MPAA’s Parent File Scan / greedy peopleFrom the same people that bought us DVD regioning, in an anachronistic move reminiscent of the RIAA, the MPAA have released a program for parents to run on their childrens computers to snoop on peer-to-peer software, movie and music files. There is a good report on the BBC for further reading. Of course it is completely wrong to pirate copyright materials, but this is just another typically ignorant response that simply does not address the root(s) of the problem. As a parent I say they can stuff their snooping software right up their hoop, where it can snuggle up with DVD region encoding and the other nonsense they impose on us ‘for our benefit’. They really don’t get it do they. Comments... |
