In OS X, to get information on the file, or files, currently selected just hit ‘apple-i’, ‘ctrl-left click’ or ‘right-click’ for more information. However if you have up to ten items selected you will get 10 info windows, rather than just one summary window.

I really like this idea.

It’s a phone number registry.

If you lived in the affected area and have been unable to get word out, you can register your phone number to show people that you are ok. Conversely, others can use it look up missing friends and relatives.
