Underachiever

What a strange week.

It was my birthday and I was really ill. As I am stickler for celebrating birthdays this was extremely displeasing!

I even took a day off work (unheard of) and missed a pitch for a client in London.

Not so good.

But I did get a new album from a band called Camera Obscura. Under Achievers Please Try Harder is perfect. Lighwieght, witty, sneaky, and a great cover! Check them out.

I amused myself in my fevered state by somehow randomising my iTunes music and listening to a couple of hours of Mozart, Beethoven and The Bays alternating around!

I also got the new Placebo album ‘Meds’. I love Amazon market place sometimes. I bought the special edition with DVD just because it was 2 quid more than the regular edition but not knowing what to expect. And what do you know, it comes in a hardback book with a really cool photo booklet!

More music from Stereogum. If you don’t read this ‘blog’ you really should give it a shot. You can often pickup some decent downloads and discover great new music like Dirty Pretty Things ‘You Fucking Love It’ – c’mon you know you do!

And the Chili Peppers are finally listed on iTunes after years of moaning. To celebrate, there’s loads of special edition tracks but it means you have to buy the damn albums all over again. Sheesh.

Yeah, pity the Jersey people’s days are numbered – the law has pulled the plug on them all. They’ve got 12 months to get out of dodge. Oh well.

Erm… and a very happy birthday. Suppose that’s for 2007 now ;-)

Actually, Susan wrote a reminder on the calendar. But I forgot to look at the reminder which tells me to look at the calendar. Apparently, it’s all my fault. But I can’t fathom that great logic.

Anways… read some stuff above about some modern beat combo “groups”. Didn’t see Kate Bush in any of those mentions. Surely some mistake?

There’s no point in complaining about that to me – you’re marrying her haha! And having bludgeoned me into doing the photo’s sympathy is in short supply ;)

Sorry ‘bout the KB oversight, I’ll try harder next time. Isn’t she 103 or dead or something?

What sympathy to start with? ;-)

But yes – you’re thinking of the right “artist”. I await your more informed future music critique…

Over bearing, over rated, over the hill.

How’s that?

...and annoyingly not dead enough to prevent her releasing more ‘records’.

(Comments wont nest below this level)

LOL! But Aerial is a great album. Even if you have to skip the majority of CD 1 and the first bit of CD 2 ;-)

Sounds complicated. I’ve always simplifed the matter by skipping buying it ;)
