must admit its very useful for getting rid of a lot of unwanted junk
Freecycle Drawing BoardI am excited, I have a new toy! It’s a beautiful wooden top A0 board with a pale green metallic frame. Just fantastic, and free! So how do you get a fantastic object like this for free? Join Freecycle! Freecycle is way to give away stuff that you don’t need that’s cluttering up your life. There are hundreds of these mailing list based groups (Yahoo groups) around the UK, and worldwide. You just subscribe to the list which covers your area and claim stuff that you like when it’s offered. Likewise if you have stuff you need to get rid of then you just post a note to the group. It’s a fantastic idea, you just email an offer to the person giving something away, and if you are chosen, then just arrange a mutually agreeable way to collect it. Quick, simple. Love it! And you get to feel all good about yourself when you give stuff away. Note: I really have to say an additional thanks to Adobe for this. If it wasn’t for their pathetic user interface I’d never have been driven back to using a pencil and paper. Which Adobe app I hear you cry? Well, all of them! Comments...

It’s great cos there’s no postage or delivery hassle. And no haggling.

There was even a chat topic about it on Radio 2 this lunchtime. Not that I listed to Radio 2. Or have many lunches. cough

Yep, I heard it too through some strange coincidence. Don’t think I’ve listened to Radio 2 for about 25 years and there it was talking about Freecycle!

Cool and retro. Nice if you have a few spare acres in your office
Q: When are you going to be freecycling those banjos in the background?
PS – to make it complete, you need an original large wooden set square. No self-respecting draftsman would be seen without one… and a set of green Rotring pens!
