Zune is released!

As pointed out on MDN, CNN had a slot about the new Zune launch on the morning show today and, well, basically ridiculed it.

There’s a ream of choice quotes but my favourite has to be from one of the hosts…

“Why don’t [Microsoft] get some decent design people to make things look better?””

Ouch! Watch it and weep.

Although, to be fair, it looks like someone commenting on the MDN story has discovered a new feature which would help explain the brick-like size … yes, it plays cassette tapes!

“Fantastic – it even let’s old people like my uncle here play their cliff richard tapes.”

Zune – bigger and browner than a C90 and twice as out of date!

Edit: Now even Dvorak has slated it – scary thing is Dvorak is wrong about everything, let’s hope it’s not an omen!

And it’s not compatible with Vista – oh ho ho ho!
